Dealer sticker
Nerdy purchase but it’s not a window sticker.. would there have been one on the rear window of our million when new?
I expect as an ordinary sticker it’ll degrade quickly.

Re: Dealer sticker
Window stickers became more common late 60's and 70's, before that the plate / sticker was often under the bonnet or on the passenger door. Mine is under the bonnet at the same height and on the other side to the regulator.

Re: Dealer sticker
I do have a small plate near the interior rear view mirror .. I guess that was all it originally had.

Re: Dealer sticker
I tend to agree regarding dealer plates. Over the years I've had several 1950's Austin Cambridges and Westminsters. Each had an engraved brass plate, about 15cm long by 3cm deep, with black infills, rivetted onto the front nearside sill-top/doorstep. One from Page Motors of Epsom, Surrey ('We Sell All Makes' ... and they still do!), one from Kirkways Cars of Wallington, Surrey, and one from Caffyn & Co. of Preston Park, Brighton.

Re: Dealer sticker
I've had stickers from Isaydingdong on my car in the blazing hot tropical sun for the better part of 7 years. They haven't even faded. That one will last you long enough.
Re: Dealer sticker
I can remember quite a few Morris cars had a rear window sticker saying 'Another Morris' although whether these came from the factory or supplying dealers I couldn't say.
As a slogan it was slightly two edged, as in 'The car in front is a Toyota'

Re: Dealer sticker
Not as bad as the 'Duff Motor Company' one I saw.......Was there ever anything supplied by BMC on new Millions apart from the 1000000 on the bonnet and boot? The Million register may be able to assist.
Re: Dealer sticker
I quite like it

Re: Dealer sticker
A lot were dashboard transfers, stickers or small plates usually between speedo and passenger glove box. (Pre series 5 and ally dash trim) or larger plate on the kick plate visible when door opened....
cheers

Re: Dealer sticker
Also on n/s dr below qtr light, fitted by 2nd hand car dealers too, not always the original dealership.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
