Re: Work of art?
Oh dear. I'd have thought that would cost more to collect than the value of any useful parts.
More a work of nature I'd have said Les!

Re: Work of art?
But seriously, what’s the worst moggy that’s been successfully restored?

Restoring a car can mean replacing a lot of parts, not sure how much original stuff would need to be saved to qualify before it became a rebuild/replica.

Interesting point.les wrote:Restoring a car can mean replacing a lot of parts, not sure how much original stuff would need to be saved to qualify before it became a rebuild/replica.
If you had the registration documents and one original hub cap, could you rebuild from spares and legally keep the same registration number?

Oooops...
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
Re: Work of art?
LBM, that brings back memories of a couple or three years back, anyone remember the crazy posts and that guy who said he was a QC or something? I don't think I'm imagining it!

Re: Work of art?
Subject STILL remains unresolved, bit like the 9/11 airliners able to travel through the twin towers with no damage to their nose cones!!

Re: Work of art?
Even at the time, I thought it strange why the wings/engine's didn't break off upon impact....expect to see SOME part of an airliner fall to the ground....Bit peculiar!!SteveClem wrote:That's a new one on me!

Nothing disappears, maybe just changes its state. There was plenty of fuel involved.

Re: Work of art?
Sounds a bit like a dodgy conspiracy theory?
Re: Work of art?
Maybe they carried spare engines in case the original ones gave trouble on route!POMMReg wrote:Apparently, the engines they DID find came from other 'planes....dunno WHAT/WHO to believe!!
