Never throw another tube away! Just fit over the damage and lace up. ------it was ok in 1913!

Les
Brings back memories of using DUCO tyre vulcanising machines and using DUCO inner tube patches.
The good old days where you could run a tyre down to the canvas without any problems; and tyre tread depth what was that.
Don't get me going on beaded edge tyres which where a real pain to remove and fit - now showing my age.

I have a car manual from the 1920s which tells you stuff the tyre with grass to get you home after a puncture

I once read somewhere that Rolls Royce owners' handbooks of the 1920's said stuff like 'Have your man check the sparking plugs' etc. I'm pretty sure that the Owner's Manual in my wife's car says something similar.
