Books with Minors

Post by firedrake1942 »

Heavenly! My two passions combined. A book and one featuring a Minor!

Is that the book itself, or just the cover artwork?
Looks like my kind of read but apparently not published yet...?

PB, Nope its the book itself but a review copy. I haunt several second hand bookshops where proof and review copies are sold by reviewers, I am sure it is available to pre order on the behemoth Amazon. Ah yes. Out on 18th of October 2018!

That is a bit odd as it has not been published yet. Mine is a proof / review copy (£2.00). Libraries do not tend to sell off stock until 6 months after last borrowing, Price is very high for alleged ex library stock too ! Caveat emptor !

Well, its one pence less than the copy you posted according to the sleeve, there is of course a postage charge,
I have used Abe books for many years now and found a few gems regarding the motor industry without any recourse to buyer beware tactics being required.
I would recommend them unreservedly, as for the specific book and its release date I dont know, however my wife is an author and receives a quantity of each of her published books, usually 20 prior to its release, prior to that also a number are circulated to people who like to comment on the books printed within the genre, this is common practice, they then get distributed in a random fashion, usually ending up in the strangest of places, sometimes before official release.

Indeed, but I paid £2 for mine. Used ABE for years without many issues, but the ex-library book description is simply wrong. There is however (as of yesterday afternoon) another proof copy in the basement of Any Amount of Books in Charing Cross Road WC2.
