Discovery channel

Post by ampwhu »

anyone watching "Misfit Garage" on the discovery channel this week?

they found a 2 door 61 minor in a barn and are hot rodding it. Small block chevy lump, blower and have custom built a new frame for it.

must say it looked pretty much rot free before they chopped it up. was found in Dallas Texas. cant be many MM in the US?

they paid $8500 for it!

Quite interesting to see an American show work on a UK classic car. Sadly, Misfit garage doesn't work to the highest standard of the likes of Chip Foose or Dave Kindig, so hopefully it will turn out ok.
Still, they've saved another one that was destined for oblivion, and if it fosters the imagination of folk over the pond to tackle a Minor, then all is good. Looking at the prospective selling price, I'm going to increase the valuation of mine fourfold lol.

If they paid that much for it, and if indeed it was rot free I doubt it would otherwise have ended up on the scrap heap. They just got there berore a Morris enthusiast!

Out of a population of about 300 million, and many of them car orientated, probably more than perhaps imagined. However seems this ones gone! :D

Oldest known Series MM high-headlamp convertible in U.S. just been rescued (in Texas too) from a collapsed shed, and going to be restored.
