Impending restoration

Post by Murrayminor »

Good evening
As mentioned in other posts I recently aquired a 1965 2 door morris minor 1000.
From a distance it looks fairly presentable and has been painted in the past.
The previous owner did things the wrong way round and painted over some rust ( and filler).
I intend to have the car professionally restored in the next two years as a retirement present to myself having spent the last 23 years in a job.
The minor "Gracie" ( Grey1965, C reg) will only be used during decent weather once finished.
I will have to return to a job of some description for a few years so Gracie will be well looked after once finished.
I live in Manchester and I'm currently on the look out for a company to take on the work.
Now I know there are loads of companies offering morris minor restorations around the country but having somewhere I could pop into to check the work would be a benefit.
Does anyone have any recommendations of companies in the north west who would firstly have a look at Gracie and give me an indication of the amount of work required.
One or two companies spring to mind locally those being Millineum Minors in Manchester and Leadbetters of Lancashire.
But slightly further out is west riding Classics.
Has anyone had any work carried out by any of these companies?
Regards
Dermot.
