Series 2 steering wheel remanufacture

Post by jagnut66 »

Hi,
One of the other small jobs I have done, whilst collecting parts for the more involved work on Sally to come, is to change the steering wheel.
I was fortunate enough to get hold of a refurbished one a few years back but never got round to installing it on Olwyn and given the state of the one on Sally I'm glad I still have it.
You can see why from the state of the one I removed in the pictures below, way beyond a simple resin repair.
However it seems a waste to just throw it away when I believe there is a company out there that has moulds and can 'remanufacture' them.
Does anybody have their details / company name, so I can look them up and see how much it would cost?
Best wishes,
Mike.

A quick look at the net revealed the following Websites of companies that offer steering wheel restoration:

https://www.steeringwheelrestoration.co.uk/

http://www.edsteeringwheels.co.uk/index.php

https://www.classiccarsadvisor.com/supplier/1380

http://www.garyssteeringwheel.com/

These are just a few, there are much more.

Blimey, I thought I'd struggle to find the one that Fuzz Townsend has used on Car SOS, let alone other options!
Thanks very much.

I think you would be surprised how well the cracks would cover in with some areldite, it may take several applications to fill them completely but would be worth the effort.

Too many Minors so little time.....
