6" wire formed screwdriver for Minor toolkits

Post by firedrake1942 »

As promised some weeks ago, Ray the Uttlesford Branch engineer has made the first of the 6" (5 3/4) wire formed screwdrivers for the early toolkits.

I know that were expressions of interest and if those interested can PM me or mail on dadmjsdm@aol.com he can assess how much steel he will need and how many to make.

The photo shows the new, unpainted, 6" screwdriver next to the 9" version.

They look very similar to the early Meccano screwdrivers they used to have with the kits :)

Rather thicker steel. It was a common and fairly cheap way of making tools.
