Wiper arm "fins"

Years ago there were plastic fins that clipped onto each windscreen wiper arm available from motor factors.
Each one had three fins that caught the wind and pushed the wiper blades onto the windscreen. They seemed to really help to clear the screen.
Anyone seen any recently?

You might find some on eBay under 'wiper spoilers'. I had a stainless steel pair of B-G ones fitted to a car, I think they were more for appearance than effect. A more likely solution would be to check the wiper arm springs for tension.

A very ‘70’s thing...there were lots of them! Nice and period looking but almost entirely useless,I think :D

This thread has set me to thinking about the various 'embellishments' that were all the rage for a while and I've remembered the following:- plastic wind deflectors (fly catchers?) fitted at the front of the bonnet; earthing straps from the car to the road; tigers tails on filler caps; 'bullet holes' in windows; very long, whippy radio aerials; 'his and hers' named sun-visor strips on windscreens... (any others?)

Wiper arm tension, even with new arms and springs, is generally rubbish.
I found that these spoilers helped a lot to clear the whole wiped area of the screen.
I have found some on ebay, and I will be giving them a go.

Vinyl roof in a spray-can... and even worse... window tint in a spray-can!

Oh yes, just remembered - the nodding dog (I was actually bought one for my Ford Anglia as an 'ironic' birthday present by my then girlfriend).

Which section of the A1? It's just possible that they weren't stickers... :o

Oh, Nottinghamshire, that's OK then. They must have been stickers otherwise, presumably, there would have been arrows sticking out of it rather than bullet holes. 8)

Two things I bought for my Viva in my youth; a gear lever extension which increased the length by two inches, and a device which attached to the heater hose in the engine to give "hot" water when using the screen wash. Both a waste of money. And did those plastic rear "demist" panels actually work?

Another thing springs to mind... bought for my Mk.1 Mini... a Paddy Hopkirk accelerator pedal 'enlarger'.

I have had a Paddy pedal for many years - ideal for when you need to heel and toe. It also helps that the accelerator pedal has been modified to put the pedal into the right position for heel and toe action.
