Missing Posts and Threads

Post by gtt1951 »

I posted a topic in April about "Anyone got an early side-valve dynamo with radiator fans" and have been trying to locate it.
It HAS VANISHED WITHOUT A TRACE!
What is going on?
I had a response from someone in Australia and they asked for a PM with my email address to send me photos.
The person hasn't been checking their PMs so I was going to add a reply to the original topic with a "Please check your PMs", but the topic has vanished.

Rather fed up in trying to locate posts with no success - a sign of this new not-so-good hosting site?,

George.

There was another with the title I had quoted, but there is no trace of it.

I just did a google search and found it was posted in the Wanted section.
It appears that old posts are probably deleted after a preset time of a couple of months.
I have added a couple of screen shots

Clicking on that shows it has been removed

Not the answer you wanted but shows why you can't find it.

Makes sense not to leave 'Wanted' up for evermore.
Only the 'Scrapyards' Topic in the For Sale/Wanted Area seems to go back further than a few months; that's probably as it's turned into a bit of a Memory Lane topic...

In my naivety, I ended up doing a write up of how to repair a stripped thread in 2 parts - this is what I was asking Louise for help with to amalgamate into 1 post.

The missing one is about asking for a replacement early pattern dynamo, that someone from Oz had responded to and that post cannot be found. The title was
"Anyone got an early side-valve dynamo with radiator fans"

Regards,

George.

Thank you very much "Stillgotmyf1stcar".
I was hoping to find the thread and post in it, in case, the person that had the pulley read it again - sigh.
