Re: scalextric
Likewise! Many years ago when I was in the Royal Navy serving aboard HMS ALBION we had a huge Scalextrix kit which we set up in an empty embarked force messdeck. What fun, a toy for big boys!

We also had a large set when I was with BP Tankers, It ran right down the engineers alleway port to stbd on the cross alleway back down the next cross alleyway and back to the start, we used to do a 24 hour Le mans now and again usually fron the gulf down to Aussi. Great times!!

Don't, you'll regret it.Still got three sets keep stopping myself giving them away
A few years back I still had all my 00 gauge model railway stuff in boxes, steam trains (inc. some rarities), carraiges, rolling stock, people, railway staff, stations, buildings, scale pre-war cars, stone walls, the works, from when I dismantled my railway layout, always intending to recreate it one day (but better).
Then in a moment of depression, thinking that I might never own my own home again (I was in a HMO and potless at the time), I gave it all away to the local model railway society (they were delighted). I wish I still had it now, to replace it all would cost me thousands.............
Best wishes,
Mike.

Well, it turns out my brother still has set in his mancave, so when the missus buys me the car for my birthday its going to be a moggie versus a Ferrari and a Mercedes.

I remember seeing Albion at Gan Island in 1971 some of their engineers came aboard us and saw our scalectrix and were amazed at the setup.
