Stainless Bumper Bolts

Post by pgp001 »

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced supplier of stainless steel bumper bolts please. I need both a front and rear set for a Traveller.

I have seen someone on ebay selling them for £10 each, but I am a Yorkshireman so that ain't going to happen any time soon :D

I have the equipment and am perfectly able to make some myself, but if i can find some at a decent price I will buy them.

Thanks
Phil

Oh......now there's an idea.

I could make some brass ones and polish the heads, I bet that would cause a few comments at shows :D

Chrome bolts will be fine, assemble all fixings with lashings of wax!

It has chrome ones it at present, they were all renewed by the previous owner in 2016 but are completely rusty, It seems the quality of new parts is pretty poor where chrome is concerned.
I am not inclined to keep replacing them every few years, that's why I am considering stainless, so during this lockdown I will make a set.

I am just off outside to give it the cavity wax treatment with Dynax 50 while it is off the road for a while and the weather is warm and dry.
