Hello
Having just become a Morris Minor owner, I'm keen to make a few contacts - anything to help keep the old girl in tip top shape. Also any advice re: a garage that could help out with a yearly service and MOT would be appreciated. I'm Glasgow way but am happy to travel a bit for the right expertise.
Thanks!
Steve

Re: Scottish Central Belt - contacts and servicing
Hello from a fellow Moggy owner in the Glasgow area. I’ve had similar dilemmas regarding Minor friendly garages...
One I’ve found that seems to be good for anything I don’t want to tackle myself (or with help) is the Southside Mini Centre in the Shawlands area. It’s a classic mini specialist. I used the place for electronic ignition conversion and tuning. He looked after the car. That said my aim is to learn to do most things and routine servicing myself.
Anyway, the owner of the mini garage is a guy named John. He’s into classic cars. He has several including minis and a mk1 Cortina. When it comes to the engines at least he’ll know them inside out. He’s reasonably priced, what he charged me was very fair.
Only issue is a lack of parking in the area, but give him a phone to let him know you’re coming and he’ll let you park your Moggy in the driveway area off the street on arrival. He has some interesting cars in his garage that he was more than happy to show me. In fact I’m sure he has a Moggy van or pick up that he’s doing a full restoration on.
Good luck. I’ve sent you a private message too. It’s good to know other local owners.

Hi John
Thanks for the reply, it's good to know there are others around the Glasgow area and at least one garage that might be able to help. I'll definitely get in touch with the other John to see if he's taking on work at the moment. I've also PM'd you (just to test it out if nothing else).
Cheers!
