Chassis Numbers
I am recent to owning a 1964 Morris Traveller. It came with a spare engine which I presumed could have been the original one. However the plate in the engine compartment and that on the engine are not the same. Does this indicate that it was just a spare engine? Thanks in anticipation of your help.
Re: Chassis Numbers
Congratulations on joining the fold, and welcome to the forum. For a 1964 car, the chassis plate would usually be oblong. he chassis number would start MAW5... and the engine number would usually be recorded as "SEE ENGINE". The engine numbers would start 10MA.... unless a reconditioned engine has been fitted. Don't post too much info in open forum, but feel free to send me a PM with your chassis number and registration number and I'll let you know if they match up.
