Fitting tyres
My car has been off-road SORN for the last 12+ years and is now being refettled to go back into use. All the tyres are 15+ years old and need replacing. ESM and Longstone sell new Pirellis but having asked around my local tyre fitters, I have been quoted between £20 and £25 per wheel to fit them. Has anyone else faced this problem or found a cheaper alternative? I live in East Sussex and can take the wheels & tyres to be fitted a reasonable distance.

Re: Fitting tyres
I had 4 Bridgestones delivered direct to a tyre dealer I have used for years and he charged me £20 to fit and balance 4 tyres. I did ring around first and was quoted £10 or £12 per tyre. All this was pre-Covid, so late 2019.
£20 plus per tyre seems very steep to me.

Re: Fitting tyres
If you haven't already bought them , I bought and had fitted Bridgestone 145x80x14 at Tyre Express, Southwick,in your area.
Re: Fitting tyres
Have a look on Google at Black Circle Tyres ,they sell the tyres fitted ,send them to a local garage of your choice ,you pick a date and time and have them fitted . Black Circles pays the garage .It works for me .

Re: Fitting tyres
I tried Black Circle but they do not list any tyres for a Morris Minor.

Re: Fitting tyres
Thanks. I have seen Bridgestones listed on a few other sites but nothing came up on Black Circles when I looked. While I would have preferred the Pirellis, I cannot justify paying an extra £40-45 for each wheel. Looks like I will be fitting Bridgestones!KeithL wrote: ↑Sun Sep 19, 2021 12:22 pm This is what I use:

Re: Fitting tyres
Have a look for some Toyos. I put premium brand tyres on my modern car because of the higher speeds, but mid range tyres like Toyo on a standard Minor are fine.
£20-25 per tyre to fit is steep. £10-15 is more normal. Try a Halfords Autocentre, that’s who I used.

Re: Fitting tyres
Thumbs up here for Toyo tyres.
I put four on my trav some years ago when there was nothing else available and have replaced them as nec with the same.
I use my trav every day (it's the newest car in our garage) and in terms of price-quality we reckon they are good value.
