Advice needed on selling price

Post by Bumpy »

I have these two Moggy seats for sale and have no idea what price I should set.
Any advice would be welcome.

They are vinyl and there are no tears or holes or wear.

I know someone that’s been looking for this colour of interior, I’ll private message you.

John

EDIT: Sorry, he is other end of the country. Sorry I can’t help with a valuation but I’m sure someone will. They look good.

If the thread starter was willing to post, that wouldn't be an issue since Hermes do a special extra large delivery, though I seem to recall it isn't shown on their main site but on such sites as parcel2go etc. And when I say extra large, in our case it was all four seats and door panels - was something like £100 postage mind, and took two couriers to carry the box :D

As to the price, I'd go by the sold listings section on eBay:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... ition=3000

to see what others sell for to give you an idea, which I'd guess going from the condition of yours and eBay would be the £50-80~ (the pair), but in saying that it all depends on your luck selling Minor parts - mine's lousy  .

You can always ask more and reduce the price over time of course.

A pair of seats in such good condition are a real rarity and should fetch a good price. This will depend a little on your location and the location of a potential buyer of course! Those particular seats were only fitted for a short time - perhaps 2 years - and only to the "basic" model, so the market might be a little limited? Worth waiting for the right buyer though. I would have thought they should fetch double the price suggested earlier as a bare minimum. They would still be a bargain for the right person. Do you have the rear seat to go with them?

Thanks for that additional advice. I had noticed when taking photos that the seats were different to most that I see in pictures, but I am pleased to see they are genuine Moggy seats.

These seats were freed up by the installation of Newton commercial front seats. The rear seat is still in situ and blends well, so I have no plans to replace. I had hoped to raise enough money from the sale to buy a pair of the sculptured (fluted) door skins from Newton, so about £150 Seems a fair deal to me. :)

I am located near Stansted airport on the M11

I purchased new covers and all the bits to refurbish my front seats and had a local upholsterer do the work .
His labour was very reasonable but the total bill was still almost £500 .The seats are very comfortable so money well spent .
Your seats look A1 so will be a bargain for someone at £200 .Good luck .

If you ever sell the car, the absence of the original seats might be an issue for some people. Why don’t you carefully store them so they can go back in the car in future if needs be.

Whoever buys them would need to have some nice rear seats to match :(
