Hi. I have re-joined the club after a couple of years absence and am having difficulty finding out info.
Rather than ask the obvious (to some) questions, I try searching first. when I ask about "recommended engine oil". i am told that it is ignoring the words engine and oil as they are too obvious. As a result, I get random recommendations about other topics. So obviously I am dim and doing something wrong. I have tried searching various topics but with the same probems. Any tips would be appreciated as I will no doubt have a 1000 obvious questions to ask!
It is good to be "back home" and eagerly awaiting delivery of my 1964 useable Traveller project
Thanks

Re: How to use the search function please
Welcome back.
I feel your pain, unfortunately, it is such a common word on the site a search would literally return 1,000 of posts.
Try Oils.
It'll only give 603 returns.
Meanwhile, this one might be what you are looking for....

https://www.google.co.uk
Search Term:
site:mmoc.org.uk MySearchTerm
And then you get round the nuisances of this forums search function
(note that site: is specific to Googles' search engine, it's usually different for other search engines).

Thanks guys for the info and a link to get better search results.
Re: How to use the search function please
Thanks for the message re: this via the office. I'm afraid the search function is what the search function is - it's an integral function of the software used for the board really. Using Google to search the board is, I think, a great solution and always likely to be better than anything we can do - searching is something that Google spend billions on every year
