Many thanks for the info regarding your front wheel drive Minor.

Brian
Ads regards the power output of my engine.

1380cc - 140bhp at the flywheel as built but nothing under 5000rpm but would rev to 10000plus rpm.
to make it more tractable I changed the full race cam to a 649 for better low down torque and now around 130bhp.
Phil
Wow that’s pretty impressive.

I’m guessing four bolt or centre strapped main bearing. Billet cut crank or tuftrided? Full race half shafts presumably.

Hope to see her in action some day if I’m near an event.

4 bolt centre main, 1275cc Midget tuftrided crankshaft fully re-worked by Oselli and 175bhp capable half-shafts.

Interesting to know Phil.

The (possibly distant) future holds a power upgrade for my road car, but still researching and getting my ducks lined up regarding drive train and suspension requirements. Hoping to get around 100bhp.

I may go the supercharger route for bottom end road flexibility, but it’s nice to know there are half shafts that go up to that sort of power. I would like to avoid the likes of an Escort back end keep everything as BMCish as practical.

My half-shafts are not off the shelf units. They were NOS Minor ones purchased from Bull Motif many years ago which were crack tested and then heat treated by a specialist company and guaranteed for use up to 175bhp.
When they were done there were no other options as regards upgraded half-shafts as there are now.
I do have an additional used pair labelled O/S - N/S on the shelf if required.

Thanks Phil.

Always interesting to know these things. However I’ve got a long way to go before needing half shafts.
