It would not have had any. There was a period in the S2 when the apertures were simply left open then two doors for the S III then open again and only a door on passenger side .

Of course, it's your car, and if you want to fit doors then go ahead and do it. They certainly help to stop bits flying out, and also keep things hidden from prying eyes.

If you want to fit the glovebox doors from a later car (I fitted a pair to my own Series 11) just make sure that you also purchase the fittings from the same car which keep them shut
Otherwise they will not stay shut!
The job is further complicated by the fact that the glovebox doors AND the fittings for them are not the same on all models. The doors and fittings used on the earliest Minor 1000 in 1956 are not the same as those fitted from 1959-1961. You need to make sure that you get a matching set.
The cardboard liners are also similar but not the same as your Series11. When I did mine I made sure that I had the doors, the liners AND all the fittings from the same Minor 1000 as well as measurements to show me where to drill the holes in the metalwork.
It isn't a "difficult" job but it might not be as simple as you imagine.
