Engine Crane

Postby CaliTrav » Fri Jan 03, 2020 8:58 am

Anybody in the Derby area feeling charitable? :D

Need to remove the engine and 'box on my Traveller to do a bit of maintenance on the flywheel starter ring and some other bits, and need a crane to do the heavy lifting.

I'm reluctant to buy one as I have no plans to remove them again if I can help it! Plus ongoing storage even with a folding one would be a bit of a pain, and I don't really want the hassle of buying one to eBay it immediately afterwards.

Would be very happy to collect/return one and borrow it for a few weeks, if anyone can spare one..? (Payment in Bass, Pedigree or other Burton ale of your choice!)

If you look on ebay for "Engine Hoist" and change the price to Lowest first, it'll show that you can rent one for various amounts, some people offer them at£10-15 per day, I've just seen 1 that does from 1-5 days for £20.
They all seem to want around £100 deposit, which is fair enough.
