Hi all,looking for a piston dampener spring for an SU H1.

Are you sure that you want a spring as some of the H1 SU carbs only had the weighted piston and no spring.

Hmmmmm,not sure then.Just got a parts kit and diagram shows spring. How do
I know?

The piston damper has additional weight added to the piston in the form of an iron ring fitted into the top cup of the piston.

If you do not have the additional weight then you do need the spring.

The later H1 carbs had the weight replaced by the compression spring.

You either have a weighted piston or spring. It is not recommended that you have both as it can cause very poor engine performance.
