Standard wheels are worthless.
Any value will be in the tyre.
I had loads and ended up scrapping most of them as couldn't give them away free.

Hi,
I suspect there may come a time when people will value them more and wish they were as cheap as they still are today.
I now have an original set for my 1954 car (the type with studs to hold the hub caps on with), which I have just had dipped to remove paint / crud / rust and then zinc plated, so hopefully they will last a few years! :D
However I also have accumulated three sets of later wheels, one set of which I had treated (as above) prior to acquiring an original set for my car (it came with two original wheels and three later ones).
I think I shall preserve and hang onto them all.
One day people will want standard wheels again and find themselves stuck with alloys, through lack of availability if everybody just chucks them out......
Best wishes,
Mike.

I couldn't continue to store them forever and no one wanted them on here, but I'm sure you are correct about them being wanted one day. Although I think that day is still a long way off........

There may be a case for standard wheels. I’m not sure if the Minor rims will follow suit but standard Mini S rims are a rarity now.

Fair enough, if you have more than one set and no storage space.
But a single set with the tyres removed doesn't take up too much room when stacked. If people did this when swapping to alloys, they could stay with the car when / if sold on.....
Best wishes,
Mike.

A set of wheels doesn’t take up much room but what when you add it to all the other stuff, not taking up too much room! :D I’m trying to look at things differently now. The less is more school of thought, possibly. I’m not there just yet.
