Tyres

Postby 1956 » Sat May 30, 2020 8:37 pm

Hello, I was wondering if any one had or knew where I could buy Nankang tubeless steel radial tyres. The numbers on the tyre reads 31166002 155/80 R14 80S (the type with the wrap around tread and raised rib around the sidewall of the tyre). I have attached an image of the tyre tread as I am looking for a tyre to match the others on my split screen minor. Thank you, Hannah.

That is an old tyre, long out of production. Nangkang do still make tyres of that size - I have them on one of my Minors - but they are a different tread pattern now. You'll either have to look secondhand or find somebody who's had an old/new tyre hidden away somewhere.
Failing that, simply purchase one of the new design. It'll look different but other than that, it won't really matter. Better still, purchase two and use your old one as a spare. It is an old tyre and old tyres aren't a good idea on a car

Hi,
I have this link saved in 'my favourites'.
Not the Nankangs you were looking for, granted. However if your design is so old that it's no longer in production then perhaps it's time for some new rubber anyway.
Hope it's of some help.
Best wishes,
Mike.

PS: I love the colour of your car, what is it? Porcelain Green?
Edit: Sorry that was a later colour but it doesn't look like the series 2 colour of Mist Green, more like a mint green, or am I being fooled by the camera and light?

Hi, thank you for the replies and the info everybody, I'll keep looking. You are correct about Minty's colour, he is a New Zealand ckd car, the colour is Malaya green which was specific to New Zealand.
