Early Chrome Glove box lid surround and hinges and the Stay's.

Postby Bubblemechanic » Mon Aug 10, 2020 3:28 pm

Hi guy's I have a problem it has been a few years since I started my Resto on Gloria my Traveller and am in the process of starting to put it together again and I have lost the Chrome surrounds for my glove box lids also the the arched stay's that stop the glove box lid falling down and it creates like a little table to rest on I know they are around but where I have spent nearly 3 weeks looking for the bits but to no avail so was wondering if anybody has some of the parts I am looking for and what price you want for them you may contact me either Email or mobile

Hi,
Is one of these what you're after?

Charles Ware do similar as well, however I can't find the stays anywhere either.
Perhaps look for someone breaking a Minor....
Best wishes,
Mike.

Mike
Your links are the 'chrome' trim for the open gloveboxes.
I think Bubblemechanic's problem is that during his restoration, he has separated the surround from his glovebox lids and lost them.
The lid/door type I obtained for Basil on this topic a few years back: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=67533

I was lucky enough to find them for £10 at an autojumble.

Thank you guy's I took the glove box lids apart because they were green and stripped them down off the car along with all the other bits and put them away safe and now in 2020 can't find them anywhere I know I have not thrown them away. They are around in the Garage somewhere and it is driving me round the bend keep looking.

When I have such a problem, I go through a simple process.....
I tell the Mrs I've lost something,
she rolls her eyes,
she goes to the approximate location that I've narrowed down,
such as Garage or Shed, ....
.....and promptly find missing item.

System rarely fails....
