Pickup cab
Re: Pickup cab
The V5 stays with the chassis, so what you are asking is not really all above board...

Thanks Bowie; I did not know that.

Re: Pickup cab
Yes it seems strange to me. If you buy a new chassis, you are not given a V5 with it. If you get an old chassis from ebay to weld up, you do not get a V5 with it.
A chassis is like any other body panel, almost a service item; but the cab surely stays with the vehicle for all of its life.
Information is usually stamped or fixed to the bulkhead; not the chassis. Information for commercials is fixed to the passenger door card.
However, I am not disputing Bowies knowledge.
No luck finding a cab yet anyway.
A van cab would do.....I have got a cab back.

Re: Pickup cab
In order to retain the Registration number on a vehicle that is having a new standard chassis (different rules apply to a modified chassis) the chassis must
1. mirror the original and have the same spec
2. have a manufacturer specification sheet or receipt
3. use two other major components of the vehicle ( engine, axle etc)
That way the original number can be retained on the repaired vehicle.
Modified chassis and even converted vans/pickups fall into the modified category and have to adhere to stricter rules.
