Got an intermittant problem with my indicators.
When the indicators are on in either direction and the cars at idle the indercators flash fine but when there are any engine revs on the indicators speed up....which is a bit strange!
Just wondering if my dynamo's on the way out or flasher units dodgy. Can an unstable voltage supply cause a fluctuation or output thru the flasher unit.
Thinkin I might fail the MOT on excessive flashing or something!
Dynamo and indicator query.

my first guess would be the flasher unit, however there's a slim change that you have a voltage regul;ator problem - you'd need a volt meter to be sure but if the regulator wasn't regulating properly you would get high voltage.
If the voltage across the battery rises much above 14.5 when you rev high, then you've got a regulator problem.
If it doesn't, then you need to change the flasher unit.
I have a lucas flasher unit on a different car - sometimes it is fine but most of the time it flashes like it's at a rave

flasher
Sounds as though your battery is not giving the correct supply probably due
to either a fault in the charging circuit or a battery which is on the way out.
Do the lights noticeably increase in brightness when you increase revs from
tickover? Check the voltage across the battery or fully charge it off the car
and take it for a discharge test.
