Yes, we know them intimately - what do you need to know?

Just clean the points (and the filter) in the one you have. All highly detailed in the Workshop manual........

It is a useful item to have a spare but make sure that you get genuine Lucas, not a cheap imitation

When my pipe was cut I joined the two ends together with rubber tubing and a couple of jubilee clips.

thanks, that is what i hope to do, but i don't have the pipe section and union (pump end). does anyone have/ know where to get the brass unions from, as it seems silly to spend £18 on a whole new pipe, when i already have a pipe bent to shape that seems servicable with the addition of a few little bits.

you could always chase up someone who is breaking a minor to get the section you need.

hi dennis, it is the brass union that fits over the thread on the pump inlet. it is usually attatched to the main fuel pipe. let me know if you have anything. if you have the whole pipe end still attached to the pump, the whole section would be great- i understand that they are often cut. thanks

I have an old fuel pipe with the end you want I think from one of my three restorations. Can't remember the condition exactly but I'll have a look tomorrow and see if it's serviceable. If it is then I'll post a reply am tomorrow. How much pipe would you like me to leave on the end for you to connect to? 6-8"? Then PM me with your address and I'll put it in the post.

Yep, looks OK. Bit of surface rust because it's been sat outside all winter, but the end you want is ok and the union/olive are in good condition. Lost track in the thread exactly who it is that wants it (marcusthemoose??), so whoever it is, if they could pm me asap with the address and how much pipe you want me to leave on then I'll post it when I go into the village later this morning.
