Re: Mini steering ignition column
Purple is always the non-ignition fused feed for horn and headlamp flash. The purple/black may be the earth wire for the horn. Blue group wires are as Minor. Brown is 12v + power feed - white is unfused ignition supply to coil and ignition fed fuses, the other two - one will be to the starter solenoid - the other will be the key second position - accessories on, but ignition not on. Use a meter to find out which! Indicators - as Minor I think. Don't have a Mini diagram - so just working from common sense.......

Re: Mini steering ignition column
so doed the blue group connect to the wires of the dipswitch i know the indicator ones are the same and the purple + black goes to the horn wire but not sure about the plain purple
Re: Mini steering ignition column
Plain purple is fused horn and headlamp flash feed. Blue group replace th Minor dipswitch.

Re: Mini steering ignition column
so where will i wire the purple wire as im not very good at wiring
Re: Mini steering ignition column
You supply it with 12 volts - fused, non ignition - so you can flash the headlights!
Re: Mini steering ignition column
I got myself a mini manual for the wires, about £5. You will spend more than that on fuses without it!!!!

Re: Mini steering ignition column
Hi,
I'm currently doing wiring on a Fiat twin-cam 1965 Minor saloon, which has the Mini steering column fitted, so I'm also having to ponder at length how to adapt the Mini wiring loom to work on a Minor... Thanks for the tips/diagrams above

Re: Mini steering ignition column
I finally got my Minor's Mini steering column fully functional, though I had to dismantle the indicator stalk because the terminals had sunk down too far in the housing base, and weren't making contact - a rather poor quality design At least the assemblies are rebuildable fairly easily though, which is something.

Maybe drop it in to one of those old-fashioned locksmith guys and have it over-hauled first
