Unusual Light Switch Issue

Post by Kevin »

Hi all when my switch is in the first position both the side and headlights come on together 8) and the second position does not appear to do anything instead of side lights first and headlamps second, so I was just wondering if anyone has experienced this before as I am not sure how long its been going on for, it's not something I have ever come across.
Cheers

Depends how you wire the switch - mine was rigged to give head + side at first position (to allow headlamp flashing) and in the second position only the side lights. There are many combinations of where you plug in the Lucars on the back of the switch!

Its the later switch on a 68 and I haven't touched the lights so just wondered if it could be a faulty switch or something, I will look into it more when I have a bit of time as its not urgent as at least they are all working.

Possibly the little brass conector inside switch body has broken , after a number of years toggling they can wear a bit.
