Ignition cut out device
I've had my saloon for more than 20 years but never known what the two wires under the dash which I connect together to prevent the engine being started are wired to. Today I was touching one of the disconnected spade terminals when I started the car and got a load of smallish but very noticeable electric shocks. I'm sure this isn't meant to happen. Can anyone help me understand what's going on ?

You tell us! Could be a couple or more of ways to prevent the power reaching the HT side. We really need to know where these wires originate and terminate.

As RAB says, probably a way of interrupting the HT circuit. Can we avoid being specific, though - don't want to educate anyone who shouldn't know as to how secret switches (or secret bare terminals....) are normally set up!
