You could always connect up a lower voltage and check the current, or measure the resistance and apply Ohm’s Law (if your meter is good enough at low resistance values). The results will be ball park, not absolute, as the resistance will change with temperature, dependent on the resistance material used.

Just to update members who've participated in this post, I've measured the amperage of the demister & it's around 5A. I've also obtained some white cabling to match the ignition colour on the old wiring diagram I have. Everything seemed to work on the "mock-up" in my garage & in the next few weeks I hope that the demister will be fitted.
