Hello Sandun,
To my eye that looks correct for a 1955 car, except that silvery plate in the centre - and the needle - look like later additions - someone has tinkered with it at some point is my guess. Normally, they look like the last picture in this link: http://www.newoldcar.co.uk/index.php/70 ... en-ref-761

Thank you, i think the meter re assemble wrong , and he says not attached(wired) the fuel sender unit Because of that the fuel meter show ' F ' - is it possible ? I think it always "E" wired or not

Sandun I agree with you. If the fuel guage (meter) is showing 'full' when disconnected from the sender, then I think the guage is faulty.
As for the correct sender unit, for these early speedos/guages this is the one: http://www.morrisminorspares.com/fuel-s ... es-p830603

Sandun
Someone has been messing with your speedometer, the chrome plate in the centre should be BEHIND the plate with MPH on it forming a chrome RING, also the needle is incorrect for a Minor should be as per the photos....

P.S

The fuel gauge could be OK , if the wiring is disconnected/earthed , the gauge can read Full..

Yes, you are right about the chrome, John, but surely it should read 'empty' with the ignition off (as in Sandun's picture there are no ignition/oil lights on)?

Not 100% about this but when testing mine I was a little perturbed about this , it seems unlikely but am sure it happened...there are different senders and gauges which don't work together..
