Auxillary position on ignition sw

Post by Phil-1954 »

All;
1967 1098cc:

As there is no aux position on the ignition switch, allowing accessories to run without the coil being live, has anyone fitted one, in particular eBay item number: 301293872577 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/lucas-SPB501 ... 1293872577 (MGB MG Midget TRIUMPH) This looks to fit, but I haven't removed the switch yet and don't wish to unless I have the replacement straight to hand.

I have fitted one , but mine is a '58 and I believe the switch mountings are different , but your theory is correct , one can have the radio etc on without burningout the ignition coil etc..etc..
