Indicator switches

Post by Mark Wilson »

Column indicator switches for late Minors seem to be out of stock everywhere at the moment, but similar looking Mini Mk1 swiches are available. Does anyone know if these fit or not?

I don't know if they fit the column or not, but have a feeling that the stalk is shorter.

When you say they're out of stock everywhere, have you tried calling some of the smaller suppliers? I only ask because these days a lot of folk seem to try Ware's, ESM and Andrew Eggleton, but nobody else. It's quite possible that a smaller supplier will have a stash of second hand ones, but you might need to look a little further (if you haven't already :D )

Thanks, if it was just the shorter stalk I could cope with that, but need to know if it fits the cowl. I know the column diameter is the same, as the bush fits.

Not really interested in second hand, could probably get the existing one to work a bit better but everything is a bit loose. I've tried the usual suspects you mention, plus Moss and Tom Roy. Any other suggestions welcome.

Hi,
I found this one:

I know you said you don't want second hand but if you get stuck:

I did notice some for sale from Australia, however they are not cheap and postage is £15.
Best wishes,
Mike.

Well done Mike. The first one is from the same people as the mini one I'd looked at, but my search hadn't come up with this. Pity it's £20 more than the mini one, but I've ordered it as I know that faulty self cancellers will drive me mad.

(I've just given up on the choke cable repair and ordered one of those, too, so a rather expensive day. Good job I've saved all that money by not going to the pub for two months 8) )
