Vantastic fuel sender unit.

Post by surfergirl »

Hi everyone, finally getting around to sorting the fuel tank sender unit in the 1962 van. Its not been showing any fuel in tank for ages so I pulled it out today and checked it was moving the float, which it was.
So on the bench hooked it to a battery and volt meter and moved the float, which didnt show a change and then promptly blew the little thin wire in the unit on top of the sender! ( inside the housing on top of the sender unit)
Its got the Gold speedo clock so I cant use a saloon sender, any know of any work arounds as Im having trouble finding one for a van of this age, maybe another classic used the same?
Thanks.

No difference between vans and saloon senders, as long as its the right type for the speedo gauge.
This is the one you need for a gold-faced speedo: https://www.morrisminorspares.com/fuel- ... es-p830603
