I’m doing a little armchair shopping and was thinking of getting a reversing lamp from ESM
I’m wondering if there is likely to be a cable in the loom already for this as well as a switch on the gearbox ?
I have a 67 saloon with an original loom

Re: Reversing Lamp
As regards a standard/original loom there was no specific wire for a reversing light.
There is no switch fitted to the gearbox to facilitate a reversing light.
The 1275cc Midget gearbox was fitted with a reversing light switch.
There were several externally fitted after market switches available to be fitted to the gearbox and operated by the movement of the gear lever.
There are several threads regarding the fitment of a reversing light to a Minor on this web site. Use the search facility.

Re: Reversing Lamp
A lamp would be a good idea if you do a lot of night driving. Otherwise the brake lights or an indicator are good enough to see for most manoeuvres. If it is controlled by a manually operated switch there needs to be a warning light. There are many types available.
