hi i am currently restoring a mm series lowlight and i have been told that the trafficators on the the low lights were longer than the ones for the hi lights vehicles i was wondering if anyone could tell me more bout them and any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Depends on the year of the lowlight (not 100% sure when they changed) but they started off with SF34N trafficator before changing to the later SF80 unit.
The arms are the same length (restricted by the slot in the body work :wink: ) but the mounting brackets are slighly different due to the deeper mechanism of the SF34 arm.

Just to add to that, on the lowlights the trafficators are noticeably recessed into the bodywork whilst on the later cars they are flush with the side of the car.

i still have the original brackets does anyone know if i can use the later model trafficator.

Yes it will fit, I used SF80 on my 1950 MM as the original were seized soild.

The mountings are the same with regard to how the trafficator fits it, but if you use the brackets meant for the SF34 units then they will sit further in the body and not stick out as far when operated.
I will try and dig out one of each of the brackets and picture them side by side to demonstrate what i mean as a picture says 1000 words i've heard! :lol:
