engine plates

Post by twinkle »

Hello Gang- does anyone know of a firm that may be able to supply me with the ( metal information and Morris plates ) that should be on the rocker box top? Mine are missing and it would be nice to restore these- I have tried the flimsy lable type but they just peel with the heat- Best Regards Twinkle and Bill.

Yes, ESM:

They are quite cheap and should not cost much to mail to Holland.

I would try general engineering companies like engine rebuliders or places like that. They usually have a set of stamps.

As East Sussex have workshops it could be worth asking them if they could do it for you.

Thank's a lot Cam, do you really know everything? You keep amazing me..., but then I'm only young, I haven't seen any Minors when they were new, I'm only 20 years young (but I have a lovely car though) I think hehehe, I'll put some pics up as soon as Elisabeth (series)II comes back from the Dinitrol treatment

Thanks mate! But after a bit of messing about on the car (and others) you'll soon pick up some details! :D

Buy a few good books on the Minor too as they contain a wealth of information.

I am only 30 years young, but there are PLENTY of people on here with a LOT more experience than me (and a lot more years too! ). I don't remember new Minors either (I was born 3 years after the last one made).

Please do post some piccies of your car as I for one would love to see them. :D

...and some of us with much less experience and a few more years - I was 9 when the very last ones trundled out of the factory. Like Cam says, work on your car for a few months and you'll soon find you know a huge amount about them, and buying hoards of books seems to come with it too.

:o

Over here you'll pay about £5 (7 Euro) for a second hand one. Can you cope with an English version to save a lot of money?

Erm........ just realised. Those are Minor 1000 books! and you have a series II

Well, you can search on eBay for the proper BL manual to cover the series II.........

Like this one:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... eName=WDVW

There are others but they don't post outside of the UK. Have a search though.
