Evening all.

Out of interest, does anyone know the where-abouts of this Traveller?

It's almond green, EAF234B

It belonged to my grandfather til around 5 years ago, at which point I believe it made it's way upcountry from Cornwall.

As you say, I did check and it came up with unrecognised registration.

It's a shame if it was, as I "helped" restore it about 15 years ago.

It was swapped for a Morris 10/4 with a local woman about 5 years ago. It wasn't in bad condition when it left us. No rust at all.

Hasn't necessarily been scrapped. If a new owner has changed the registration for a personal plate, then it won't show up on the Gov site. Are you absolutely sure the registration is correct? Only reason I ask is a reference table I've checked doesn't list 'EAF' as ever being issued in 1964 'B' reg.

99% positive, I'll try to find a photo when I'm home. It's a cornish plate. I seem to recall reading that we didn't get any 'A' registration allocation, so we went straight onto 'B'

You're correct, as Cornwall didn't start using suffix letters until 1964, starting with AAF 1B in Sep 1964. So they never issued any 'A' registrations. Some registration authorities kept using the old system until 1 January 1965, when 'C' registration was issued and the letter suffix was made compulsory.
EAF is listed as issued from Oct 1965 to 31st Dec 1965 as 'C' registration. However that doesn't rule out 'B' registration, as there are sometimes anomalies.

Glad to know I understood the Cornish system right, thanks for the information MCYorks.

However, massive egg on my face...

I knew it was a Cornish reg, but it was YCV not EAF.

Now that's sad, but I guess that is how it goes.

The original reg. quoted was wrong as the poster corrected . The car is showing on the Gov. site and appears to be alive and well.
