Scrap Moggies in Cyprus

Post by Tapitha »

In Cyprus old cars just get abandoned in fields and by the roadside. I have seen lots of restorable abandoned Moggies as well as wrecks good for taking off parts. The Cypriots now drive around in BMWs and Mercedes and Honda HRVs.

I know from the shipping costs for a driving car, from the states to here, is about 900 Euro, but when he is not driving he should go in a more expensive container.

How many could you fit in a container?
That would bring the price per unit down.

When it is a tourer, roofs down, and a second one upside down in the container...
The problem is a container is about 6 meter, a moggy is 3,40 meter.
Or take a 9 meter container, put 2 moggy's in there, and fill it with a number 3 (or 4) in parts
Maybe a special transport frame, and the wheels from the moggy taken off?
I should say, take a few 1:10 models, make a 1 : 10 model of a container, and try how to get it in there.

But partial dismantling will help for sure, we are doing the same when we are transporting a big machine overseas.
Some small parts of iron to secure the machine in a corner, and a part of wood to avoid damage will help.

I know from companies who are putting machines in containers with help from a lot of grease, to move the iron frame in the container.
