As promised, some interior shots.

As before, let me know what I need to do in order to gain some more points without changing too much away from the car I want.

And here is my tool kit. Am I missing anything or do I have too much? I'm not sure what all the tools are.

WOW......

That is a car and then some.

I can see nothing wrong with it. I would have been worried about the extra dials in the dashboard but if there is scope to include a servo there should be for two dials.

If I can get any of my cars to be half as good as that one I'll be very happy.

Well done.

Always willing to admit an error.

The sticker on the fuel pump should be the yellow SU type (not Lucas which is also yellow) and the ends of the spark plug leads should indeed be unpainted copper.

The interior looks lovely! It is the later style though, which was introduced in October 1964, so is wrong for a 1959 car. Not sure how this would affect the concours points scoring though. Hopefully someone who knows will be along shortly :D

Louise, Your spot on.
My my dad wanted a white car with this Cheroke Red interior which matches the white, but not the year. Its mainly about making the car you want.

Thanks for the kind comments. The dials were added by the first owner and not us. My choice would be to get rid of them but that would leave big holes. So for the time being, they have to stay.

Absolutely! You might be better entering 'condition' class judging though rather than concours, which is aimed at cars that look like they did when they left the factory. I'm sure you'd win some prizes :D

Slightly OT but are we allowing scans of Ray's book on here now - I was pulled up previously on a breech of copyright ruling when I posted something a while back?

I think not but I'm seeking advice from the other moderators. Just waiting for one to log on and respond.

Edit: As I've been waiting a while I'll remove the pictures pending a response as it seems to me that they'll breach copyright law.

littleblackflash, although I believe that the rules have changed since I resigned my position as CCJ, I would still be inclined to suggest you enter your car in condition class rather than Concours.
Good luck.

Thanks Judge.

You've answered my original question.

Does anyone have a suggestion where I should show the car for the first time? Somewhere in the south I hope.

I've just worked out what one of the tools is.......

I think it's an old manhole cover lifter handle.

Anyone know what the others are for?

If you click on 'What's on' in the index to the left of this page you'll see where the rallies are.
