mmmmmm........problem! I have just taken a look at the ones I have and there crossplies too.Cam wrote:Only kidding Bill. We'll have a good mess around with some paint and Mike's wheel securing arrangements.
Trouble is though that all my spare MM wheels (in fact all of them) have either no tyres on or have crossplies! I think Chrissie is on radials all round.

Hey lads, lads, lads. No squabbling or you won't be able to stay up late at the rally.
Thanks+, yet again all of you.
Will read and digest the info.
Have a good Easter.

Oh dear, oh dear, the paint I have is probably 2pack. It's in a medium size Nescafe jar. Is it worth asking the local paint shop to put some of it into an aerosol can?
A little tin of Humbrel used to be the order of the day on my old bicycles as a kiddie!
Ah - memories!

A spray can, preferably one that doesn't need a top coat of laquer, would be the best bet in the circumstances.
Humbrol? Oh yes, I remember my grandmother mentioning it once

Hi Chrissie, Cam & Bill
I have just checked my MM wheels & they have good Firestone 145s with 4mm tread - paint is flaky Silver on a Rust undercoat but they seem straight enough - If required I can get one taken to MM Rally.
I would like it replaced (Cam ?) as its 1 of the 4 I was going to get blasted/powder coated but a bare wheel will do as I have a nearly new set of Dunlop D75s to put on when done - timescale whenever.
Let me know if you need it.

Trouble with wheelnuts again. So browsing the thread [ha] and found this post. Little did they know they were to spend time with others fitting parts to the car ready for a heater installation. And there were big problems bravely worked through. Great team!Cam wrote:As always, Bill, as always.Judge wrote:I knew I could count on your support CamCam wrote: Looks like you'll be busy at the MM Rally then Bill.
Still got wheelnut problems though....
Anybody know what size the original nuts should be please? My teacher at the car maintenance class is convinced the ones I have are the wrong ones. Head too small? They virtually fit INTO the hole in the wheels. Thank goodness the holes are tapered.
Might go for those ones you refer to Mike....

What have you got a setup Chrissie?
Nuts or bolts?
The old type wheels are quite prone to wearing out on the holes.

Oddly, the holes don't look worn. And they are the same size as the replacement wheel I was kindly given...
JLH said he has some with larger 'heads' on that I can have.
Looks like I need to check all the wheels.

Some later Series MMs had a different thread on the wheel bolts.
I have a feeling that you might have these as I recall reading somewhere that the bolt head was smaller.
