Trafficators

Hello from Italy!

I have pulled the Tourer out of hybernation yesterday, as the weather is warm (33°c) and very sunny, perfect for open-top motoring! My Tourer drives well and I am thinking of having her homologated with FIVA to apply for some international events next year.

The first thing to do will be retrimming the seats (any recommendation about where I could buy the original beige/red letaher seats covers?) and fitting a new hood, but I think that it would be appropriate to fit once again the original trafficators. The previous owners deleted them and there is no more any hint of the place where they were placed. This is not a big problem, but I would need to find the 2 traffcators themselves and their 'boxes'. I have been told that it will be very difficult to find them, but I must try....

If anyone has a pair of trafficators for sale or know where I could find them, please be so kind to let me know.

Have a nice week-end

Stefano

Newton Commercial supply the correct type of seats and all your interoir bits and can be bought in vinyl or leather

Club spares have reconditioned trafficators listed in the magazine though no price for them. If you contacted Bryan Gosling Im sure he could probably supply the brackets as well. Have the slots in the body work for the trafficators been filled in?

Do you have the measurements and fitting instructions? Can you find the slots?
If you want to wire the trafficators and indicators on the same switch see http://seriesmm.mmoc.org.uk Tech Info, Trafficator and Indicator wiring diagram

Hello,

thank you for your useful answers, I have alreay placed a bid on those brackets and solenoids.

Dear Mike, the trafficators were deleted years ago and I think that the whole rear panels were replaced with later panels without the slots, as no sign of welding is visible inside once we removed the internal panel. We will have to cut new slots once we have the lot ready, brackets, (working) trafficators etc.

I am still looking for a suitable radiator cap, as mine is quite large and unti now I couldn't find one. I am using a cap from an American M151 Jeep but it is obviously not suited to the MM radiator; the MM requires a 4psi cap, this one is set at a much higher pressure.

This is my cap and wonder if anyone knows of a source for this. I've tried eBay but can't figure out the diameter of the caps listed there and sellers rarely answer to this kind of question.... :x

Thank you

Stefano (driving today to a golf tournament with the MM in sunny weather and 33°C...)

In my barn, I have the one who was placed in the car when I bought him, it is a Toyota cap,
But the radiator is also a later type, so i replaced him for the original one complete with original cap.

When you like it, I can make pictures, but i am sure you can find a Toyota cap in the UK when needed ;)

My 1951 2 door mm semaphores did not fit into a box,
They sat on the back paniel just below the side window

Hello,

having found the trafficators for my MM (thanks Barry) I am looking for the correct switch. Is this eBay item the right one? The seller does not specify if it is.

Thanks

That is the correct switch, wrong colour. It should match the other switches. It fits in the hole in the triangular panel by the door

Hello Mike,

my knobs are black so would this be the correct switch?
