918cc cylinder head wanted for smm97191

Post by smithskids »

I have had this car since 1976 and ran it as standard until 1989 eventually the side valve came out and all the running gear from a1098 went in then 1275cc then 1430cc. Road test and pics in Minor Monthly April 1997. I ran it like this until 2010 and,old age catching me up, I converted it back to standard. After about 800 miles the head gasket started to blow at the back centre bolt hole, on inspection there is nothing you can do about this kind of crack. I went down to Boston Lincs recently to look at one but it was cracked in a similar place. At this moment it is running with a 1935 Morris 8 head with serpentine plumbing, it seems to work ok but I really would like to buy a good head, with or without a thermostat housing.I live in East Yorkshire.

Thanks folks I now have one lined up.Its on and fitted now thanks Lee.
