stamped chassis number location

Post by POMMReg »

Did early MMs have their chassis numbers stamped behind their NSF shock absorber, or was this unique to export/CKD?
Were on the bulkhead by 34,000 - but was this universal for ALL models?

Didn't plan on covering MMs, depends on whether I receive enough info.
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!

Chris, why not split this project into separate models? Then you can sell each list as you finish data for each model. If you then find addition material to a particular model, that could be added as a supplement to the appropriate list. I can't see how you can finally complete this in its present form, as there will always be additional info discovered sometime in the future.

Talking with David Greenslade about my NZ 49 MM. He told me there was not a stamped number added.

Thanks Rod

On some Hm.Mkt LCVs, chassis stamped into o/s floor on flat bit just short of transmission tunnel.

Anyone able to confirm this?

it could be the reason, my 1950 MM does not have a stamped number, also not on the floor

I suppose a simple screw on chassis plate was enough for some Countries.....yet Oz used TWO!

Wish I had stuck to LCVs !
