Low-light for sale on eBay

Post by gtt1951 »

Hello Folks,
I've been off the forums for a while but have noticed this 1950 low-light for sale
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/152103006515? ... EBIDX%3AIT
The ad sates it has been refinished in "black", the colour-coded steering wheel seems to be red/brown, so a maroon original?
The ID plate is riveted on, rather than screwed on - is this correct for a car of this age? I don't think it is.
Any input welcome.

Regards, George.

The steering wheel appears to be re-rimmed or restored as I haven't come across that colour on a factory wheel. Body colour had no bearing on the wheel colour though.

The ID tag should be screwed on but it's a reproduction plate anyway.

It does look like a very neat car all the same.

Great observation, getting as suspicious as me!

Should be a 3 "cell" plate screwed on.

No paint/finish info above the Vin and no "/" separator.

Think the patent plate should be above the Vin plate too.

Gtt, can you place a "link" on here for that post 1966 "1959" van for sale please?

Glad someone else notices chassis plate hiccups!!
Further investigations uncovered it was an inside job!!
