Welcome to the Series MM register section!

This section is for anyone with a particular interest in the Series MM Morris Minor built between September 1948 and February 1953.

A word from Mike Perry (series MM registrar):

Mike Perry wrote:The Series MM register exists to encourage the ownership, maintenance and use of the Series MM, to represent the interests of the Series MM within the Morris Minor Owners Club, and to raise the profile of the model, thereby encouraging suppliers to stock spares unique to the Series MM.

In addition, the register offers advice to owners and tries to assist in the tracing of spare parts in co-operation with the MMOC spares service, and where viable will arrange for the manufacture of obsolete items.

The register also maintains a record of all known cars world-wide, currently numbering some 830 vehicles. Please note that due to the data protection act which overrides the freedom of information act and is in turn overridden by the official secrets act, information on car ownership cannot be disclosed without prior consent of the owner.

This website is maintained by me (Cam) and the content supplied by Mike, myself and other Series MM owners.

Might I ask that any questions specific to the Series MM be posted in here, and the more general questions about non-MM Minors be posted elsewhere on the messageboard. This will allow the MM specialists who visit this section more to be able to spot and answer and queries quickly.

Homage. It’s a good initiative to have a small corner for MM owners to specific MM problems, good ideas, et cetera. I have experienced how difficult it is to find correctly information about the car.

I look forward to an interesting discussion about the MM.

How can I register my MM (is still namelessly). I have see that the Website is largely under construction.

You can register your car by contacting Mike Perry (MM registrar). His details are in the MMOC magazine (Minor Monthly). OR you can e-mail the address on the website with your car's details and I can pass them on to him!

If you want to ask any specific details about your car then please feel free to ask in this section! The more the merrier!!

Hi I have just acquired a 1952 2 door sidvalve...Green similar to the photo in cam's message.
I posted a message about indicators...as I am wanting to put some sympathetic indicators on my car...really for safety...Any help, ideas as to where I could get this done and the cost involved, etc...I'm based in Cambridgeshire...
Also anyone know where I could get a rear bumper valance from?

Any help gratefully received...

Hi and congrats on the car!

For a rear bumper valance try the club spares service (contact info in Minor Matters magazine).

Any reputable 'classic friendly' garage should be able to fit indicators to your car. Unfortunately I don't know of any in the Cambridge area as I don't live anywhere near there.

There are quite a few Cambridge people on here so a post in the Electrical section should yield results!

You are welcome to the indicators I've just taken off Phoebe (green car), I'll even help you wire them if you are unsure.

The pic below shows them still fitted.

Thanks for your posts and helpful advice...
Lee, not wnating to be picky but could you tell me what the rear units are like?

RE: the front ones I am thinking of replacing the side lights with indicators but keeping the lense and having an orange bulb...
at the rear on the boot there are a couple of reflectors and I'm thinking of replacing these with indicators...Well I'm not planning to do the work...rather my friendly garage...

Any thoughts on if this would be ok...or would it offend too many MM owners....

Chris, the rear units on Phoebe have been fitted with the later orange/red light units which will be going shortly also. The rear indicators are fairly easy to add on if you have the solid red units, make up a bracket to mount the orange blob and bolts onto the rear bumper mounts, The front orange blobs could be mounted in a similar way so as to avoid drilling holes ect. in any panels.

I have reverted back to the flashing sidelights on the front and will revert back to the flashing tail light on the rear once I get myself a set

PS I'm only about 40 miles away from you so if you need a helping hand wiring them up I'd be happy to

especially as I spent an hour sorting Phoebe's indicator wiring out this morning.
