Please can you help me. Is this the correct distributor for my car 1952? I've added some photos. I would like to buy a replacement as there is a significant amount of wear in the shaft which is making it really difficult to set the points etc. If anyone could sell me one or point me in the right direction it would be most greatful. Thanks, Karl.

Yes, that is the best MM distributor. 40056, 40251 and 40333 were used, in that order.

Yours can be rebushed, should you wish, or you can get the same 'curve' built into a modern 25D4 body. The original was designed for poor petrol so is no longer ideal. The baseplate gives 16 degrees (32 at the crankshaft) of mechanical advance, the same as the Mini Cooper S 40819 but with a slightly less rapid curve.

The simple answer is that any used one will work if it has the numbers in the first line. I have some if you get stuck.

Hi Rob, thanks for the advice. I was a little confused as the books say it should be DKY or so I thought. So the model I have is a D2AH4, type A176, service number 40333? One book I have says this type was fitted to later MM's but doesn't show a diagram. Do you have any spare that I can buy. If not do you have a contact for someone who could give me a quote on referbishing the one I have? Many thanks, karl.

Thanks, I'll ask for a quote. I'm on a budget after Christmas though so may have to consider a second hand replacement if this option proves too expensive. Cheers, Karl.

Hi Bryan, great! Are the others also new or used? Please can you confirm condition if used as I need a good one. How much including postage please. Do you also have a 40333? Many Thanks.
