New fabrics in replica Vinyde and vinyl (Rigid and elasticy, respectively) in a fairly close colour and texture match.

Other piic also shows the vinyl paint used to cover the nasty steering wheel drip stain on the seat. Seems most early cars got one of these. Very slight mis-match of colour so another visit planned next week for a tweak. You lose the darkness at the bottom of the cracks but I think that will return in time. Looks a lot better than before!

For Bryan and John V.

I should also mention that this is the colour they fade to, not the colour they had 70 years ago, which was much lighter.

That is a pretty good match, Rob given the passing of time and the satin is almost invisible . The seats would have been leather for the seat and back and other bits vinyl.

Thanks for the photos Rob, much appreciated and very interesting to see. Was the vinyde and vinyl from the suppliers you mentioned in a previous post ?

Thanks

Philip

I'm doubtful of that. I have never seen that colour trim in Leather on any Minor MM.

I had thought that all pre 62 ish seats (MM S2 and early S3) were leather squabs and seat cushion areas, the back and sides being a vinyl / leatherette type material matching and door cards , etc matched in vinyl. Happy to be corrected.

All mine have been Vinyde. Maybe it was a sales 'con' or Leather was saved for the Deluxe or export markets?

The beige coloured MM seats were all in Vinyde but some later MMs had green leather seats.
