AC oil filter for 918cc engine

Post by manlyvaleaussie »

This is Paul again in Yuma, my 918cc engine has the AC brand oil filter, does anyone know were I can find the sump to head gasket, the original fitted over the bottom of the sump but I imagine one that would fit into the groove of the base would work. O.D. of the sump is 3.470", I.D. of the base is 3.275", groove in the base is correspondingly different to allow for the gasket with an O.D. of 3.50", I.D. of 3.270". Any help would be greatly appreciated, photos attached. manlyvaleaussie

In the UK the paper filter usually comes with the new seal, even for old filters. This filter is common to many UK cars and Farm Tractors. Fordson and Dexta come to mind. I replace them with screw-on filters elements for about £25 US Dollars.

2 different types originally fitted, AC and Purolator. New one is a bit smaller and takes a filter with pressure relief built in and needs an anti-drain valve, ideally.
